Smart Youtube is a WordPress Youtube plugin that allows you to easily insert Youtube videos in your post, comments and in your RSS feed. The plugin is designed to be small and fast and not use any external resources.
From version 2.0 Smart youtube also supports playback of high quality videos, works on iPhone, produces xHTML valid code (unlike YouTube embed code) and allows you to view videos in fullscreen.
The videos will be embedded in your RSS feed as well, and if this is not support by the reader you can choose to have video link and/or video preview screenshot displayed instead.

Installation & Usage
- Upload the whole plugin folder to your /wp-content/plugins/ folder.
- Go to the Plugins page and activate the plugin.
- Use the Options page to change RSS feed options
- When you want to display Youtube video in your post, paste the video link with httpv:// (notice the ‘v’)
Example: httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00000000
0000000 part is your video REF#
The video will be automatically embedded to your post in the proper way.
If you want want to display a high quality video then just use httpvh:// instead.
To use video deep linking just add &start=time parameter at the end of url. For example httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWfksMD4PAg&start=30 will start the video 30 seconds in.
Additionally, you can set how do you want the video to be displayed in your RSS feed. Smart Youtube can show the preview image of the video (automatically grabbed from Youtube), the link to the video, or both. I recommend enabling only the preview image.

Not Found
The requested URL /<span class= was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

This plugin is much better than entering in the YouTube path manually. I tried another YouTube plugin but went back to hand coding because it’s easier to remember.
I will head over to Wordpress and give a thumbs up for this Smart YouTube plugin. Now to recode all my previous blog posts

Can more than one video be featured in the same pane? For example, have one box for the video and have several videos accessible from that one interface?

First of all, this is a great plugin, especially when I use my RSS to import into other apps, like Facebook.
I needed to add a few things in order to get high quality videos to work properly. First the default height of the video is 360px, but the embedded player has a height of 385px, which I just changed in the settings in WP.
The other bigger issue was the link in the RSS feed pointing to the wrong URL. the property at the end of the URL needed to be “&fmt=18″ instead it was going to “&ap=%2526fmt%3D18″. That requires a separate variable in the PHP code for the URL and the embedded code. I would’ve included my changes below, but your spam filter won’t let my comment through even with

YouTube now has HIGH QUALITY thumbnails (still images)… but I had to change the code of your plugin to show them. Oh.. and YouTube now shows ADS on embedded videos (which is good for producers of content, obviously)
Anyway… Vladimir, go to my website and check out my latest videos.. you see the HQ Thumbs and the ads. It’s pretty cool.
I removed: rel=0 and the color stuff from the plugin to make them work.. the second I put rel=0 in and it goes back to low quality thumbs and no ads.

thanks for the plugin, works great with youtube videos. Only issue that I notice is that when I select a lightbox picture on the same page as the video box it open behind the box.
